I feel your pain.

Room without a view at Gulf Shores Plantation, AL. Was a corner room bottom floor by the maintenance room and also across from where they did laundry. Couldn’t sit outside because employees parked right by the patio, or were either out on break smoking or talking in foreign languages. Bathroom flooded, furniture was old. We were on the phone with them several times on Saturday and at the same time looking for other places to move to. Offered to move us later in the week and we checked in on a Friday!

We found a place in Orange Beach so checked out of Gulf Shores on Sunday morning. I called them and told them and she said she would have a manager contact me about refunding my week. A lady did call to apologize but not to refund the week. At that point I didn’t care.

In all I am tired of paying the yearly fee and have no desire to use the weeks I have left. I purchased 11 weeks in 2002 and have used 7. A few of those I have let family or friends use.

From a lot of reviews that I have recently read, it seems that Travel Advantage needs to work with the resorts to see that the properties are better maintained and kept up to date.

Sundance / Travelers rip off

2012 I signed up for package $5,000 for 10 one week vacations it's 5 years now I've called approximately three to four times a year to date I have not been able to get one vacation either they've had nothing available or they were too far away I talked to one of their representatives today only to find out they have no records of any of my vacation request they said I'm calling or talking to the wrong people I'm calling that customer service number they gave me I also found out about a $360 + processing fee every vacation I take I'm just fed up and tired of being pissed off at getting nothing for the money I've spent

Scammed by TAN

I want in on the lawsuit against travel advantage network. There is never any properties available when you want to vacation and they don’t have any properties that are worth the money I pay and they are all dumps.

I’m not interested in staying in places out in the middle of nowhere. Under attractions some of the properties have *** in the wall restaurant for an attraction. What kind of attraction is that? These are the worst accommodations.

I will be contacting the BBB. Please help me get a refund and stop them from having access to my checking account for the 96.00 a month and another 29. 95 A month in fees. I’ve had this for 3yrs and have hardly used it except for a few excess inventory properties and they were sub par at best.

Travel Advantage Network - Waste of money

Signed up in 2014 have yet to book a vacation. I got suckered into signing up for VIP last year and again have yet to book.

I am also paying an additional monthly fee of $39.92 for maintenance, yet I have never booked a vacation. I am still trying to figure out what I am paying for as the fees to book the weeks are ridiculous. Everything available seems to be in excess inventory and never at the times I can go. My son is in school still so summer is it but they never seem to have availability, hence why I have never booked.

I am a single Mom and really need to get out of this contract. Any advise on how to do that?

Pleased with TAN

We stayed at the Westin in Cape Coral for 4 weeks. We absolutely loved it.

The property is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and equipped. The 3 swimming pools are great as was the whirlpool. The places to eat were adequate(although a bit pricey). The entertainment was delightful.

This property is right on the harbor so we watched a variety of boats coming and going all day. We took the water taxi to Fort Meyers and that was a plus. WE had a two bedroom unit and it faced the water.

There were 3 TV's and that suited us. So all in all, we loved, loved, loved this property!

Waste of money

I have tried to cancel this RIP OFF several times. I bought it 4 years ago and never used it.

How can they dictate what I am doing with my package when I haven't used it. Why not take my package and sell it to someone else. I find better deals on Expedia than this Sham. I don't understand how because you sign a contract and never use a package, they wont let you cancel.

I haven't wasted your time. I have wasted mine and my money that I don't even use this mess. I Have called the so-called client resolutions department several times to only get an actual human once and then they tell me I cant get rid of my package but they can reduce the weeks and make my payments lower.

If you can do all that then just cancel it all together since I don't use the package at all. Just a SCAM!!!!

My question to you is why buy vacation packages if you aren't going to use them? The point of buying the packages is to actually go on vacations. Sorry, but most negative comments are from people that don't use them but complain about the fee.

The fact that i have to use a week at a time and some of the locations are horrible.and an annual maintenance feeFor never even using it it horrible in itself. They do not even encourage you to use it, as long they get their monthly payment

Have you gotten this resolved? I have been wanting to cancel my membership for all the same reasons that people complain about and not sure how to go about doing it. I could cancel the card the payments come from but its not fair to have it go to collections because they wont take care of the issue.

Steady decrease in value

We joined the program in 2003 and had good to excellent choices until about 2009. Since then it has become a chore to find a suitable place to rent.

Last year we had a very austere apartment with an adjoining apartment that was undergoing a complete renovation. Our vacation was on a construction site with saws and sanders going from 9-5 every day. Our best places to date were the Pepper Tree in Atlantic Beach NC, and Sea Dunes in Kitty Hawk NC. Neither one has been on their list for some time.

We have three weeks left on our plan. Hopefully we can find a place worthy of our time.

Tan is the worst!!!! Locations they advertise are never available when you want to book.

We paid 7k for the package, 350/yr and then they charge more that the 250 for any place we have tried to go and tan reps blame the resort. Beyond a rip off.

Should be travel disadvantage

Each vacation I have taken from my purchased weeks has been worse than the last. There are always problems with the water and units they provided are old,musty,dirty.

This one I am in now had ants,we are both suffering from headaches due to must and mold. The bedspread was stained and dirty and there are cobwebs in the corner. To find the source of the ants we followed them behind the couch which was filthy, food remnants included. TAN responded by bringing a bedspread and sheets -welcome so we covered couch which also is gross.

Won't even sit on filthy outdoor furniture. They have a set out on the curb down the street which would be a serious upgrade. Even a hose to the screen porch would be welcome. Broken screens, bugs,filth.

This unit probably could never be rented on the open market. Horrible. Earlier stayed in Selbyville with water trickling from the shower. We cleaned outdoor shower and hosed the front ourselves to decrease dirt and filth.

The water broke and was leaking under the house. These people enter your unit indiscriminately- put a chair under the door- they have the tight they say even if you are in the shower. If you don't answer the door they will come in. Homeowners association response-don't walk around nude Mallard Lakes).

To be clear that was not an emergency situation. The water had been fixed. Anyway units are old musty and dirty.

They put a bandaid on it. Never a good experience start to finish in five vacations so far.

Would love to cancel without problems

We joined just 45 days ago. We havent used any weeks and need to cancel due to unforeseen car payment that was just added.

Well, after reading paperwork you cannot cancel. I was tomd you can cancel but they would rather you try to sign it to another person. I just dont want be hounded. i feel that you should be able to cancel anytime without any action taken to you.

Even if you would lose out on money put down, payments made, etc. And not only that, after buying the more research on the propertties they are not all that they made it out to be. I would join the class action law suit in a heartbeat.

You should not be forced to keep something you cannot or will not use, or afford anymore. Guess we will have to take a hit on pur credit score ugh.

RIP OFF

I have been with this company several years never took a vacation because it was never available where I wanted to go then they send me a notice that my vacation agreement was going to be paid off. I have paid thousands of dollars and not one vacation.

I plan to talk to someone about a class action lawsuit this ridiculous now I am not in the system and cannot login in. I cannot believe that throughout six or more years I never went on a vacation and now they are saying I am not in the system. this was a rip off and I want my money back I plan to seek legal counsel to see what can be done in this situation if more people join with me we maybe able to form a class action lawsuit so that this does not happen to more unsuspecting people seeking a vacation club for their families. I am disappointed to say the least these people never tried to accommodate me or my family but they always managed to call for the money that was owed for the Travel Club.

I just feel that I was sold a bunch of garbage and never got to go on any vacations and they knew that what they stated in the presentation was lies. I will never join another travel club and if I do I want to sign a waiver that if I do not use it or cannot go on a vacation I can get my money back in full no questions asked.What a waste of money Evelyn A

I'm sorry, but I've been with tan for over 10 years and all the times I look for a vacation they've been very helpful and i don't have any complains at all.I have been at DR and there service was excellent, some times you have a problem with the hotel's but the issues were directly with the property and the country and you have to adapt is vacation time, have fun and enjoy.

Me too, I’ve been paying since 2013 $41 a month or so it’s been so long I cannot remember, and a fee that in my contract was around 350 or 360 a year now they’re telling me it’s over $400 a year I never realized I can be scammed so easy from nice simple salesman. I’ve tried a few times even a year in advance to book a vacation and I’ve never had success a booking a simple three day or five day vacation. This has to be one of the biggest scams that’s been going on for over 20 years and no one‘s done anything about it I’m so disappointed in the New Jersey BBB bureau, I know there’s been a lot of complaints but they don’t do nothing about it all I want is my refund back and stop trying to take $400 extra every year for no reason at all. I had a fish you feeling about it but I said why not try something new in my life? What a huge mistake financially this is nothing but a burden, I’ve even had guys come to my job to help me out to book an appointment but instead they would try to bump me up to a VIP membership meeting instead of 40 something dollars a month it would be in the 60 range or 70 range anyway this is nothing but a headache heartache and stress.

If somebody started.

I have no problem suing them if it was a group suing all together. Like a class-action suit.

Vacations packages are never where you live

You have to pay them yearly a $100. a year to keep your plan.

The locations are never where you want to go or are so far away you need a couple thousand for airfare. They will call you every hour to get you to pay that $100. I told them to stop calling and they called more. Then they started calling my cell phone and office They said because they had a great deal.

You can't get your money back. You have to keep paying them. I'm at year 10 They never have anywhere that you want to go The people calling are very rede. They are like bill collectors.

Very disrespectful and annoying. They have my money, I should be harressing them.

The motel they gave me for my original free cruise was next to an expressway and attached to a motorcycle bar. Air conditioning was window units

Plan for a rip off

I was pressure I walk away 6 times in they kept coming. I was on the elevator in the put their foot in the door until I came back.

I am sickly person due to military combat. I just wanted out of their so my went talk to the 4 manager in we just decided to do it in cancel it later. @ days later I was hospitalize for 4 days in my wife forgot to cancel. We been trying to sell 31 weeks for $10,000.

Just trying to get rid of them for good.

HORRIBLE

Third time using it in 12 years. Im at Myrtle Beach Resorts Five Seasons and it is DREADFUL.

So upset. Ive called over 10 times & TAN keeps saying they will get back to me. Big Roaches, mildew smell from the nasty carpets the minute you walk in, cracked shifting tiles, dirty sheets, nonworking little stove, dirty stained sofas and seat cushions.And your view is to a camping ground! Looks NOTHING like what you see promoted on the TAN Website.

Spoke to one area rep & she had the nerve to tell me they are working on renovating the units & others were renovated but they need time to renovate the rest. WHAT?! None of this is mention on the sites, at booking or anywhere else. DO NOT BUY INTO TAN.

It is NOT WORTH IT. You're vacation will turn into a nightmare real quick.
