Inventory is shrinking.
- - TAN rental options: Prince Resort, Tilghman Beach and Golf Resort, Peppertree Inn.
- - None are available in 2026; the reviewer is disappointed.
Prince Resort in North Myrtle Beach, Tilghman Beach and Golf Resort, Peppertree Inn all were rental options with Travel Advantage Network. NONE are available in 2026...
Their inventory is shrinking.
Used to love T.A.N. but am now very disappointed.

A Hotel Stay may be better than TAN
We've been a member (gifted to us by a parent) for several years and have used it twice. Last year at a Las Vegas condo resort and years ago on a place in New Jersey.
The NJ place was run down and not very clean. The Las Vegas room was not bad. (tip: do not sign up for the condo sales pitch. you may get a $100 gift card, but you'll lose a half-day talking to people who don't understand the word, "no.") We've looked at other places to stay in TX, Mexico, and FL and they all seem run down and out of the way.
Given the annual fee and then the rental fee TAN does not make financial sense if you don't use it at least twice a year.
If you take only one annual trip, you're better off staying at a hotel -- that leaves you much more flexibility in terms of destinations to choose from and the cost is comparable. TAN support is less than perfect, so be prepared to spend time on the phone listening to recordings.
Travel Advantage Network - Vacation Ownership Review
I would also like to be included in a class action suit. I must blame myself for getting involved with this company twice.
I originally signed a contract in 2009 for 10 weeks. We paid it off and never used any weeks. We utilized excess inventory and my in-laws used a week. 2 years after being payment free I let TAN talk me into their VIP benefits package for more exclusive travel properties, the ability to stay 3-4 days instead of full weeks, the flexibility to check in the middle of the week instead of Fri-Fri or Sat-Sat, blah blah blah!
I let my husband and family talk me into purchasing 12 weeks and 3 free with the belief that they would contribute to the monthly cost and annual fee. The family wanted to use it so I signed up again. My husband and I still have never used any weeks or excess inventory since the first time. My in-laws use it the most and reimburse us the least.
My grandmother has used excess inventory once and my father used a week. I am not a believer in this "whole sale vacation" planning. It's a complete scam and I fell for it because we are told we save money. But honestly what money is saved when you spend a total of $13,000 for vacation weeks and then have to pay additional money to use them.
I understand a procession fee of $99 but the cost of the week is $199, add on $30 per day in peak season and you have spent just about $500 for a weeks vacation and that's just for a one bedroom. Need more rooms then add $35 per day per room. $500 for a weeks vacation doesn't sound terrible but consider that each week already cost me $550 when I paid/financed the weeks to begin with and then had pay $500 to actually use it, I've spent more than $1000 for that week. I don't actually think it's worth it.
I believe I can plan a reasonable vacation without TAN especially when the resorts you want are never available when u want them and the ones you end up are sometimes *** arrangements. My mother in-law wrote a bad review with the company about the place she stayed and they gave us back a week, a "free" week. Not exactly free when I have to pay to use it when I decide to book another vacation. A better offer would have been to waive the $199 cost or the $99 processing the next she books.
So I'm disappointed in myself for getting stuck in this trap. I also seem to be the only one that thinks it's not worth it. I want to pay it off and close my account with TAN but my husband believes it would be a waste of money bc we would loose our weeks we would have paid for. I willing to accept it as a loss because I already feel we have lost so much money in this nonsense.
I don't know if you are able to sell weeks, this isn't exactly a time share that I can sell. The Travel Advantage Network and their financier TriState Financial in Wilkes Barre, Pa are making lots of money off of *** people such as myself thinking this is actually a deal. Class action suit?
Yes, want in. Signed, Pissed in Delaware County, PA.
Complete misrepresentation from TAN
Class action suit sounds perfect and I am on board. I have not been happy AT ALL with this scamming company.
We were even *** enough to be suckered into the VIP program a few years ago. My husband only gets the week of July 4th off so it is so difficult to get any that week. I was told by SEVERAL of the representatives that an e-mail goes out to us on Tuesdays around 2:00 when new inventory is added for OC, MD. I happened to be off work today so checked and found there were some listed but yet no e-mail.
By the time I started to book the location I wanted it was already filled. When I called I was told that I was confused about an e-mail being sent, yet I had been told that by more than 1 person and I was charged the extra charge for the holiday weekend which we had been told as VIP members would be waived. I was told today that was incorrect too. So I just spent almost $1000 today for a location I don't want because #1 - no e-mail as told; #2 - charged extra for the holiday, when we were told we would not have to pay that as VIP and #3 - was told about several changes that had been made over the past couple of years.
No *** ***. I am so livid right now I could just smash something.
So if you can get someone for a class act suit; I'm all in. This company is nothing but a scam and a bunch of liars.
Travel Advantage Network - Vacation Package Review
We upgraded to vip what a rip off regular program was good.. As long as u actually use it..if not fees quicly add up..
Most trips are 99 to book however somehow almost evey vip property cost 700+to book because of extra rooms that u dont even use. Worse yet i looked on line and saw similar property for less..
Without paying for vacatuon plan... What a joke
Tan what a rip off.
I will be interested in joining a class action suit against TAN what do I need to do? Never can get the properties you want and older units that definitely need to be updated.stayed in Branson several years ago and complained of it being out dated and dirty.when ever I call I can never get the property I want and often these properties are too far away from the city or attractions and often you end up paying more because they say it's prime time that's extra money or it's a 2 or 3 bedroom unit and that's extra so you end up paying a lot more money for a weeks vacation and you already paid for your weeks though TAN
Travel Advantage Network is a Rip-Off
I stayed in a 2nd floor unit at Our Place at The Beach in Ocean City, MD. I called ahead to request that the unit be cleaned properly because every year I have the same problem.
When I arrived it was not clean. The floors were dirty in the corners, the counters were not cleaned under the appliances, the refrigerator wasn't clean, there was a food storage bag under the bed and a diaper behind the dresser in the bedroom. I called to report it but got tired of waiting for someone to come back so I cleaned it myself. The unit also needed repairs.
Wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the bathrooms, the floor planks were separating and I tripped over them, the signal on the cable TV was constantly being interrupted.
I called about the TV and a guy showed up looking scruffy in old baggy clothes. I gave him the error code that showed up on the TV and he still had no clue as to how to correct it.

Travel Advantage Network Vacation Ownership Review
We too purchased this plan in 2012 with Tan Advantage/Smart Travel. Our final payment will be 1/2017 with Smart Travel.
I just found out when you book excess travel (limited availability) or pay fees, that money belongs to TAN. We still have 9 weeks left. We can cancel but we will not get a refund. Yearly maintenance fees are in excess of $400 per year.
We just got an updated email informing me of the increase for what? It is TAN who determines if a property is prime or not. Las Vegas is now prime when we used to be able to go for $99. It will now cost us $340.
I'm so disappointed in this whole mess. If it hadn't been for the hubby, I wouldn't have purchased this plan. Of course, I got stuck with the bill.
If anyone is interested in buying weeks, please let me know. This is truly a scam.
- Excess fees
- Benefits tan and not the consumer
- Inavailibiity of booking locations

Travel Advantage NEtwork is HORRIBLE a Total Scam!
We purchased a 12 week plan for around $3500 in June of 2012. At the time we were told that it was very easy to book vacation times.
We found out it is completely the opposite. It is only easy to book times if you are going off season and to out of the way places. We have never been able to use even one vacation while the "Maintenance Fees" have increased by over $100 since we purchased the original package. I phoned to speak with someone about the booking problems and the increase of "fees".
I was basically told that we were not booking our times correctly? What tha??!! They gave me some garbled excuse and them threw out how we could upgrade our plan to book on short notice? We were only looking to book at a reasonable amount of time say two or three months in advance to get a nice trip.
In reality you need to book at least a year in advance to get any of the popular places, especially in the tropics or anywhere on the beach in season. When they were pressed about the unavailability and how we have basically been unable to use the package I was told in no uncertain terms that it was not their problem we signed a contract. They do not issue refunds. We have decided rather than to continue to be bleed dry by a very bad vacation package scam to just take the hit and cancel the entire package putting us out well over $6,000.00 without one trip!
Given their attitude, poor customer service and the financial loss we are suffering on this "deal". I would LOVE to be part of a class action suit against these individuals. I cannot believe that they actually have an A+ business rating.
I have read the same issues from many, many others on several different websites. Whatever you do , do not sign up with this company!
- Customer service
- Out 6000 without one trip
- Cost and fees
Full refund

Everything is a lie ! How can i get my money back ?! This can't be real !
Travel Advantage Network is a TOTAL SCAM!
NEVER EVER purchase or agree to anything with this company. They will lie to you in order to get you to agree to sign their contract.
They have horrible practices and horrible costumer service. They scammed us out of our hard earned money and lied to us about their fees. They will stop at nothing to scam normal working middle class families that believe that this company is truly looking out for their best interest. Then once you have signed the contract they start taking the "hidden" fees that they promised there were no of out of your account.
They also took out a 'one time fee' that we never agreed upon of $369. They started charging us a maintenance fee that we were never told about and we never agreed upon either. They promised over and over that it only cost $99 to book a vacation anywhere/anytime. LIES!!
The rooms they showed us in the presentation were NOTHING like the actual rooms that they were booking. They never mentioned that Florida is constantly "in season" so in order to book a vacation you have to pay $30 a day ON TOP of the regular daily fee. Never once mentioned that its not in the contract either. I feel disgusted that my family and I are out all of this money.
That other families are out a lot of money to just sickens me. How in the world do these companies get away with this? How is this still going on?
I feel cheated and awful for drinking the kool aid. Please contact me of any class action lawsuits regarding this company.
- Poor quality
- Did not provide me what they offer in beginning
- Entire experience

Can I sell my travel package
TAN lies and doesn't care about their clients.
Purchased 12 weeks plus they gave us two for not taking a trip to Puerto Rico in December 2014. When you calculate what you are paying, plus the yearly fees, reservation fees and weekly amounts to stay in their "wholesale" vacation resorts, you are sometimes paying more that what you can rent the units for thru the owners or real estate companies.
First time we used, went to Hilton Head and stayed in a extremely small condo in Forest Beach that had mold in the vents and shower. I called and let them know, even wrote a letter, and guess what????? no one cared!! In April, 2016 went to Little Harbor in Florida and couldn't believe how clean and nice the condo's were, but guess what???
they no longer have that property.
So, now it is a *** shoot.......have reservations to go to Greenlink and see the review above stating how dirty it is. I think this company is running by the skin of their teeth and will probably go bankrupt and we will loose our money.

Travel Advantage Network - Review in Travel Agencies category from West Orange, New Jersey
Have now had this package for over 3 years. Magically every time I book, it's always busy.
This is a joke. I've asked for my money back. Allthe hidden fees are a joke. Paid a lot of money for this.
I want to get a lawyer. Has anyone tried to go after them yet?
Ruined Vacation
My wife and I attempted staying at the Greenlink Resort in Naples, Florida, for one week. We should have known better when there was no front desk or client services on the premises to greet us for check in.
We had to enter the unit by entering a door code to gain access to BLDG.700 Unit#725 However, upon entering unit #725, we immediately began to notice a number of things wrong!! (1) The carpet was filthy (2) The drapes were dusty, outdated and mixed matched (3) The bed in the MASTER bedroom was broken and made a disturbing, crunching sound when sat upon. (4) The kitchen had an insect infestation, a dirty oven and the refrigerator made a loud noise at times as though it would break (5) The washing machine had stale, sitting water "for I don't know how long" (6) the shower had mold (Both showers) After calling client services for about two days, no one ever meet with us to address the problems that we were facing, therefore we requested a refund and left the premises. Tan (travel Advantage Network) would not give us a full refund but a partial refund.
Either way, it was better than continuing in the suffering that they put us through.
We Left Greenlink and went to The Marriott for the remainder of our vacation and stayed happily ever after! We will never stay with TAN ever again.
- Greenlinks grounds is nice
- Entire experience
Very unsatisfied
We were scheduled to travel to Hilton Head on Oct 15,2016 and due to the hurricane TAN had to cancel our reservation. When I called to handle the issue I was told that since I did not purchase the cancellation insurance I would have to forfeit my week.
The only offer TAN could give me was for me to purchase insurance for $50 and then cancel my week and reschedule it somewhere else for an additional $99 charge. They made it seem like this was a huge favor to me. NOT! I argued the point with a manager, or so they tell me, with no satisfaction.
I kept insisting that they were cancelling and not able to provide a service that I had already paid several hundred dollars for, but no give on their end. I feel that my money that was paid should have been refunded. It seems like fraud to keep my money when the service is not available.
We had traveled with TAN in the past and we were somewhat disappointed at a few of the properties. Over the last few years the selection has deteriorated and availability has been poor.
I am glad to say that this was our last week and I would never recommend that anyone purchase anything with this company. Please beware when they try to pull you in, they are not honest and not helpful when there is a problem.
- Cancellation policy sucks in the event of a natural disaster
Full refund

I would like in on this class action lawsuit as well. I have paid almost $5000 and not been able to use it once.
Nothing is ever available when you want to go anywhere except for OCMD and the Jersey Shore and I live there - I don't need to travel there! Their customer service is poor too.
This is a pretty dumb comment. It is clearly your fault that you don't take advantage of the opportunities of the program.
Why would you upgrade if you don't utilize what you have?
This is clearly you and your families fault , not the companies fault. If you want to be mad, be mad at yourself for being dumb.
I could not agree with you more! This company is a HUGE rip off!!
They are making tons of money on those of us that have fell victims to this ridiculous scam. I did cancel my account because like you I have already lost sooooooooooo much money to them that I refuse to give anymore even if I did lose 12 weeks.
I never took on vacation. I am sooooooo pissed!!
I'm in the same boat and I've been in it a lot longer than you have been, since 2002! We've never taken more than one vacation a year and no one in my family wanted to use TAN even though I offered to GIVE THEM A WEEK FOR FREE.
My husband just lost his job and we can't make the monthly fees (about $40-50/month, used to be $100 per YEAR - they've been creeping up rapidly) and that is in addition to all the other fees you mentioned. VIP places were never available the last two times we tried to book. Since we financed the trip + pay add'l fees when actually take the trip - with interest, each TAN week is an estimated $2000!!! Definitely not worth it...
We've defaulted on our account and said we are willing to forfeit the remaining weeks that we paid for already (over 10!), but TAN won't let us do that, says we can't cancel the account until we bring it up to date with the monthly fees. Biggest racketeering scam ever!
