Tan what a rip off.
I will be interested in joining a class action suit against TAN what do I need to do? Never can get the properties you want and older units that definitely need to be updated.stayed in Branson several years ago and complained of it being out dated and dirty.when ever I call I can never get the property I want and often these properties are too far away from the city or attractions and often you end up paying more because they say it's prime time that's extra money or it's a 2 or 3 bedroom unit and that's extra so you end up paying a lot more money for a weeks vacation and you already paid for your weeks though TAN

I stayed in a 2nd floor unit at Our Place at The Beach in Ocean City, MD. I called ahead to request that the unit be cleaned properly because every year I have the same problem.
When I arrived it was not clean. The floors were dirty in the corners, the counters were not cleaned under the appliances, the refrigerator wasn't clean, there was a food storage bag under the bed and a diaper behind the dresser in the bedroom. I called to report it but got tired of waiting for someone to come back so I cleaned it myself. The unit also needed repairs.
Wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the bathrooms, the floor planks were separating and I tripped over them, the signal on the cable TV was constantly being interrupted.
I called about the TV and a guy showed up looking scruffy in old baggy clothes. I gave him the error code that showed up on the TV and he still had no clue as to how to correct it.

We too purchased this plan in 2012 with Tan Advantage/Smart Travel. Our final payment will be 1/2017 with Smart Travel.
I just found out when you book excess travel (limited availability) or pay fees, that money belongs to TAN. We still have 9 weeks left. We can cancel but we will not get a refund. Yearly maintenance fees are in excess of $400 per year.
We just got an updated email informing me of the increase for what? It is TAN who determines if a property is prime or not. Las Vegas is now prime when we used to be able to go for $99. It will now cost us $340.
I'm so disappointed in this whole mess. If it hadn't been for the hubby, I wouldn't have purchased this plan. Of course, I got stuck with the bill.
If anyone is interested in buying weeks, please let me know. This is truly a scam.
- Tan can change seasonability at their discretion
- Benefits tan and not the consumer
- Inavailibiity of booking locations

We purchased a 12 week plan for around $3500 in June of 2012. At the time we were told that it was very easy to book vacation times.
We found out it is completely the opposite. It is only easy to book times if you are going off season and to out of the way places. We have never been able to use even one vacation while the "Maintenance Fees" have increased by over $100 since we purchased the original package. I phoned to speak with someone about the booking problems and the increase of "fees".
I was basically told that we were not booking our times correctly? What tha??!! They gave me some garbled excuse and them threw out how we could upgrade our plan to book on short notice? We were only looking to book at a reasonable amount of time say two or three months in advance to get a nice trip.
In reality you need to book at least a year in advance to get any of the popular places, especially in the tropics or anywhere on the beach in season. When they were pressed about the unavailability and how we have basically been unable to use the package I was told in no uncertain terms that it was not their problem we signed a contract. They do not issue refunds. We have decided rather than to continue to be bleed dry by a very bad vacation package scam to just take the hit and cancel the entire package putting us out well over $6,000.00 without one trip!
Given their attitude, poor customer service and the financial loss we are suffering on this "deal". I would LOVE to be part of a class action suit against these individuals. I cannot believe that they actually have an A+ business rating.
I have read the same issues from many, many others on several different websites. Whatever you do , do not sign up with this company!
- Cost and fees
- Unavailability of bookings
- Out 6000 without one trip
Preferred solution: Full refund

NEVER EVER purchase or agree to anything with this company. They will lie to you in order to get you to agree to sign their contract.
They have horrible practices and horrible costumer service. They scammed us out of our hard earned money and lied to us about their fees. They will stop at nothing to scam normal working middle class families that believe that this company is truly looking out for their best interest. Then once you have signed the contract they start taking the "hidden" fees that they promised there were no of out of your account.
They also took out a 'one time fee' that we never agreed upon of $369. They started charging us a maintenance fee that we were never told about and we never agreed upon either. They promised over and over that it only cost $99 to book a vacation anywhere/anytime. LIES!!
The rooms they showed us in the presentation were NOTHING like the actual rooms that they were booking. They never mentioned that Florida is constantly "in season" so in order to book a vacation you have to pay $30 a day ON TOP of the regular daily fee. Never once mentioned that its not in the contract either. I feel disgusted that my family and I are out all of this money.
That other families are out a lot of money to just sickens me. How in the world do these companies get away with this? How is this still going on?
I feel cheated and awful for drinking the kool aid. Please contact me of any class action lawsuits regarding this company.

TAN lies and doesn't care about their clients.
Purchased 12 weeks plus they gave us two for not taking a trip to Puerto Rico in December 2014. When you calculate what you are paying, plus the yearly fees, reservation fees and weekly amounts to stay in their "wholesale" vacation resorts, you are sometimes paying more that what you can rent the units for thru the owners or real estate companies.
First time we used, went to Hilton Head and stayed in a extremely small condo in Forest Beach that had mold in the vents and shower. I called and let them know, even wrote a letter, and guess what????? no one cared!! In April, 2016 went to Little Harbor in Florida and couldn't believe how clean and nice the condo's were, but guess what???
they no longer have that property.
So, now it is a *** shoot.......have reservations to go to Greenlink and see the review above stating how dirty it is. I think this company is running by the skin of their teeth and will probably go bankrupt and we will loose our money.

Have now had this package for over 3 years. Magically every time I book, it's always busy.
This is a joke. I've asked for my money back. Allthe hidden fees are a joke. Paid a lot of money for this.
I want to get a lawyer. Has anyone tried to go after them yet?

Ruined Vacation
My wife and I attempted staying at the Greenlink Resort in Naples, Florida, for one week. We should have known better when there was no front desk or client services on the premises to greet us for check in.
We had to enter the unit by entering a door code to gain access to BLDG.700 Unit#725 However, upon entering unit #725, we immediately began to notice a number of things wrong!! (1) The carpet was filthy (2) The drapes were dusty, outdated and mixed matched (3) The bed in the MASTER bedroom was broken and made a disturbing, crunching sound when sat upon. (4) The kitchen had an insect infestation, a dirty oven and the refrigerator made a loud noise at times as though it would break (5) The washing machine had stale, sitting water "for I don't know how long" (6) the shower had mold (Both showers) After calling client services for about two days, no one ever meet with us to address the problems that we were facing, therefore we requested a refund and left the premises. Tan (travel Advantage Network) would not give us a full refund but a partial refund.
Either way, it was better than continuing in the suffering that they put us through.
We Left Greenlink and went to The Marriott for the remainder of our vacation and stayed happily ever after! We will never stay with TAN ever again.

We were scheduled to travel to Hilton Head on Oct 15,2016 and due to the hurricane TAN had to cancel our reservation. When I called to handle the issue I was told that since I did not purchase the cancellation insurance I would have to forfeit my week.
The only offer TAN could give me was for me to purchase insurance for $50 and then cancel my week and reschedule it somewhere else for an additional $99 charge. They made it seem like this was a huge favor to me. NOT! I argued the point with a manager, or so they tell me, with no satisfaction.
I kept insisting that they were cancelling and not able to provide a service that I had already paid several hundred dollars for, but no give on their end. I feel that my money that was paid should have been refunded. It seems like fraud to keep my money when the service is not available.
We had traveled with TAN in the past and we were somewhat disappointed at a few of the properties. Over the last few years the selection has deteriorated and availability has been poor.
I am glad to say that this was our last week and I would never recommend that anyone purchase anything with this company. Please beware when they try to pull you in, they are not honest and not helpful when there is a problem.

I agree totally!! We went through something similar except we left on our own because the service is unacceptable.

Ocean City. We were very satisfied members.
My son,his friend and I bought 10 days in o.c.md. In early September 2016.
We stayed at a two floor modest townhouse with 2 bedrooms. We all enjoyed privacy. The place was VERY CLEAN and five minutes walk to the beach and boardwalk. Since we were there off season there were very few others staying in the other townhouses.
There was a reasonable size swimming pool which we had mostly to ourselves. It also was a very quiet neighborhood. This was , I was told by the locals , due to tourists were mostly gone.
Not luxurious at all, but we loved it. Royal Palm Townhouses on 13th Street in Ocean City, Md.
- Lots of places were already booked way in advance
- Unavailability
Hello, would you please let us use an excess inventory of yours for the first week in Oct? :)
Will anyone let us buy your week in FL for this coming week, please?

Hi I hope you see this so i have some one to talk to about how to go about this I just recently purchased weeks through sundance vacations and i would really like to send a letter and cancel my plan. I was curious how you went about wording it to get them to actually cancel it for you. any help will be appreciated thank you
There is no wording you need to apply.
You have the right to cancel without explanation as long as you do it in the within the time window (it appears in your contract usually 3 to 5 business day)
I hope you get your money back!

Horrible Experiences
We bought a package with TAN in 2010. We have only been able to use them twice because properties are always sold out.
We did book with them twice but had horrible experiences. The first time, in Hilton Head, a salesman presented us with a VIP package. We wanted to think about it and left him a message saying we didn't want it. He submitted the paperwork anyway!
TAN refunded our money, but it was still upsetting. The second time was HORRENDOUS. We booked a condo in a resort in Myrtle Beach, and when we got there, someone was already in it! TAN said we had cancelled, but we hadn't, and my bank records didn't show a refund.
They put us in another condo in a different location in the resort, but it was horrible. We demanded they find us a comparable place. We stayed in a hotel (which they claim they will pay for), and the next day they hadn't yet found a new place. We found a condo on Home Away, and they paid for it.
We had to do their work for them because we didn't want to live out of our car again after driving there for two days. I am writing this as we are actually in Myrtle Beach.
I am 57 years old, and I have never had anything like this happen in all the years I have been traveling!

We have used four vacation weeks. Four of the five were terrible. Our only good destination was to Branson, MO. Though it needed updated, it was still clean and had everything that the information we had received. Four of the weeks were unbelievably horrible. We have had this plan for approximately 11-12 years as we have never been able to make reservations for the "resorts" which we wanted to go. We also quickly learned that these wonderful resorts shown to us in the presentation were the best resorts and those that we reserved were the unfilled rooms that were nothing like what we were shown. Instead of any reimbursements, for which we asked were given in the form of an extra week. That was the last thing we wanted. That has prolonged our dissatisfaction and anger.
When we went to Destin, FL, there were NO rooms available in our reserved "resort." To tell the truth, we were happy that there was no availability as it was a run-down hotel...nothing at all like a resort. We waited for several hours as they tried to locate a room. What did we receive for all of our trouble? An EXTRA week. Just what we did not want.
Our resort in Gulf Shores, AL, was still in the building stages. Though the room was nice, there was construction noise and no restaurant onsite as we expected. There was nothing to do on the grounds and we had to leave in order to find activities.
Ocean City, NJ and Pidgeon Forge, TN run closely as the worst. In Ocean City, we were instructed to bring our own sheets and towels. We really did not want to put them on the beds. The room was dirty and there were many items which were broken. We went during the end of October and were very disappointed that the boardwalk and many other places were in the process of closing down for the season. There was very little to do and it was difficult to be in an unkempt room. Again, we did not view this as a beautiful resort as promised in the presentation.
Our last, and very possibly, our VERY LAST week was a "mountain resort" above the city of Pigeon Forge. It was a one lane road up the mountain only to arrive at a run-down group of rooms. Several of the rooms were occupied year- round and the room we expected was nothing like our hopes. It had not been used in quite some time and it smelled very musty and moldy. We called the company and told them that we refused to stay in a musty room on a desolate mountain side. We got another WEEK as compensation, but they would not pay for the hotel which we found on our own. That "Mainstay Rooms and Suites" was the closest we ever came to a beautiful resort. Then again, we footed the bill. As much as we have invested un this company, it should have been their responsibility to pay for the replacement location, especially as the damp and dirty room was health issue.
This company, which operates under many different names, is getting away with what we consider to be fraud. Th
