Hilton Head - Oak Court is a winner

Travel Advantage Network
We have a larger family and are able to stay at the two houses on Oak Court that have 3 bedrooms each plus a pull out. The houses are around the corner from one another which is truly perfect. One of them has a Friday check-in day and the other, a Saturday. Family arrives when they can, and then it is off to the races. I would recommend walking to the Sea Pines Nature Preserve. They have several trails and a lake that are worth checking out. We have stayed at these two house for three years in a row and have had a great time. They have access to the Sea Pines swimming pool which is a short car ride or bicycle ride away.

Our Tan vacation in Naples Florida

Travel Advantage Network
A beautiful resort, very clean and neat, with lots to do with for family, it had everything we needed. We shared the resort with my daughter and family as it was a 3 bedroom. As we could only stay for 4 days, my daughter was able to stay the full week. Upon her leaving the resort, she called the office to let them know where the key was and locking then door behind her, she realized that she forgot to check the washer and dryer. She had left clothes in both. She tried to open the door with the code but it was no longer activated. She then called me, panicking...She was standing outside the door while calling the 888 number for Client Services (which I had given her). They let her know that they were opening the door for her while she was on the phone with them. Client Services was no short of amazing! They were so helpful and made sure that our trip would be perfect in every way. Each trip we take with Travel Advantage Network gets better and better. I would recommend them to everyone. Good prices, clean resorts, and very accommodating. Thanking you again for an amazing trip. Irene & Larry De Rose

Very happy with TAN

Travel Advantage Network
We've been with TAN since 2004. My wife and three kids have taken 15 vacations in that time. In addition, our friends and family have taken 12 vacations through our TAN account. We've only been disappointed by one location, and TAN has since removed that property from the plan. One bad, and 26 good is a 96.3% satisfaction rate. That said, our happiness with TAN is a result of us using 27 vacations in 14 years, an average of 1.9 vacations per year. There is an annual maintenance fee that for us is currently around $540 per year. It goes up about 3 to 4% per year. This amount is the same whether you use 100 vacations per year or 0. So a person or family who is a member of TAN, but only uses 1 or 2 TAN vacations every few years is probably not going to be happy with the costs they're paying for the vacations. For example paying three years of maintenance fees ($1600) and only using one vacation over that three years, is going to result in that one vacation costing more than it would if you had just booked a similar vacation at retail. One the other hand taking 2 to 3 vacations per year would spread that $1600 for 3 years of maintenance over 6 to 9 vacations. Also, someone who doesn't plan vacations far in advance is likely to be disappointed with TAN. Their excess inventory is a great cost saving way to travel, but not if you have a specific location you want to go to. The most in demand weeks for properties get booked quickly, so if you aren't planning far ahead and just want something good to be available a few months ahead of time, the location you want probably isn't available when you want to go. For example, we just booked a 3 bedroom 1400 sq ft condon at a resort right on the beach, with a private balcony facing the beach, for the last week in May, one year from now. To book this outside of TAN would cost us around $3000 for the week according to Google research and travel website. The best similar deal we found was a site where timeshare owners sell the weeks they aren't using, that was $2400 for the same area, but not as high up and facing the beach. Our cost through TAN was $729 ($99 booking fee, plus $210 for prime season, plus $210 for the extra 2nd bedroom, plus $210 for the extra 3rd bedroom) plus one of our prepaid weeks, plus the annual maintenance fee. Back in 2004 we bought 30 weeks for $11,000, so each week cost us $367 in 2004 dollars. Today that's worth about $600 in 2018 dollars. So our cost is about $1599 ($729, plus a prepaid week worth $600, plus $270 which is half of our annual maintenance fee given we typically take 2 vacations per year). So $1599 for what retails for $3000. Is it a good deal? Of course that is! So it's not hard for TAN vacations to cost almost half of what they would at retail. But it's also not hard for TAN vacations to cost more than they would at retail, if the member doesn't use TAN vacations often, and/or is waiting too long to book the vacations they want. So I can see why some people are disappointed by TAN, but if you use TAN correctly it can result in some pretty significant savings. IF you are going to sign up with TAN, make sure you'll take at least more than one vacation a year (let friends and family book through you to share out the maintenance costs), and then don't wait to book what you really want. If you do that, you'll be happy with TAN like us.

Cancelled booking

I received an email that my booking for August 04,2024 to Miramar Beach Fl has been cancelled! I booked this for my honeymoon over a year in advance because of having issues if I waited till closer to wedding which is August 02,2024. With only less than 7 months to go nothing else is available in that vicinity that I was looking forward to going to! I even had excursions on my shower list to put money towards! I asked for a Supervisor and no one has returned my call! I find this very disappointing because no one will come up with a solution especially with only 7 months to go! At this point if I cant get a Good acceptable replacement I will have to request a refund for the FULL AMOUNT!

Confiscation of credit from TAN cancelled vacation

Almost 2 years ago I paid for a TAN vacation to Palm Springs. With Covid, the vacation was cancelled by TAN as the site was not open. They issued a "credit", but gave it an expiration date. Given the current Covid travel issues, we did not use the credit in their arbitrary time frame. They have confiscated the credit. They took the money and did not deliver. So do not allow them to provide a credit, instead, demand a refund. Again, TAN cancelled the vacation. This is all on them.

Travel Advantage Network's reply to: Scam / robbed / treated poorly

This individual is not a client but did use a family member's account. The vacation that was cancelled was done so after both the state and federal government announced mandatory stay at home orders (travel was scheduled for April 10, 2020). Based on all of the actual facts, we will not be offering a refund.

Scam / robbed / treated poorly

I booked a trip through Travel Advantage Network / Tan / Plan with Tan. Im not sure why the company goes by so many different names.

Something seems shady with that in itself.

Once booked and paid for , I called the condo directly two days prior to travel. I just wanted to confirm my reservation directly cross my ts and dot my is kinda thing. I learned the condo was not accepting guests, I was already packed and prepped to leaves pet sitter in place and so on.... Tan never informed me of this cancellation !

I requested to be refunded my booking fee of $450.

I was told they do not issue refunds. I WAS TOLD I should have purchased the insurance for an additional $100 . I explained that I did not cancel the booking the condo did.

I was only offered a travel credit which would shortly expire and would not allow me to travel to the destination of my paid and previously booked location.

I then spoke to a manger in hopes to resolve my issue but instead I was sent to a woman named Lakendra who was completely rude and nasty to me.

My money was never refunded. My travel was never reimbursed, and I was treated very poorly and TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF TAN SHOULD STAND FOR

Overall good experiences with Tan Vip,2019 not good

Our 2-week vacation had several problems we wouldn't expect on the VIP program. The furniture and carpeting were worn out, the faucets leaked and to top it off ants on a high floor.

This was at the Westin Cape Coral Marina Village. Another problem, there is no compensation to members because of not being able to travel during Covid.

I am very sorry to learn about your experience with us. Travel Advantage Network has agreements with multiple third party sales companies. Providing our travelers with vacations that will give you the opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime is our responsibility. We don’t take this lightly. We understand that you have worked hard throughout the course of the year and that vacations represent a limited opportunity for you to connect, to re-energize, to relax or to explore. We were able to locate your account and see that you are working with the sales company to resolve your concerns.

Poor representation

We have been members for 6 years. Have never taken a trip as their packages are not suitable for our family.

We tried to cancel 3 years ago and they switched is to their “elite” group. For more money of course. And promised to have more rentals suitAble to our need. In 3 more years we have still not found any suitable.

We take 2-3 family vacations a year. This program is not for us. However multiple times trying to opt out of membership.

They do not allow and attempt to sell alternative packages. We are pressing with legal action next to resolve.

So I still stand by my first review...

STAY AWAY... VERY FAR AWAY FROM TAN!

I’ve been a member for about 10 years. I’ve only used TAN twice!

I can find cheaper vacations not using tan. Well I guess I have to since they never have anything where I would like to go! They also conned me into joining their VIP, HAHA what a WASTE! When is there ever VIP properties open?!

Have a hard to so as it is finding a regular spot open let along a VIP! Their customer service SUCKS too! Can’t you tell, see 90% of their replies are nothing more than copy and paste! Pathetic!

Not sure how this company isn’t getting sued like crazy at this point! It’s only a matter of time! Again if you are looking into TAN STAY AWAY!!! This company is BAD NEWS!

The first 3 years I had TAN you could actually find properties... until they started selling to companies who buy them all up!

Stay far away from this scam

They do not have the availability they let on, number 1. You'll struggle to find a place that meets your wants.

2.

They are expensive. Often more expensive than just booking the site.

3. The places are junk. They don't look like the photos and our one time finally booking, the place was crap.

broken couch, broken doors, broken appliances..

Just don't . trust me.

I have been a member of tan for over 15 years, I have had four vacations with them. I recently joined their VIP club for another $6K and still cant locate a vacation spot I want or when I want it.

There is nothing available ever, all pre-booked and always taken. the mid weeks are a joke with so many rules and regulations it was a total waste of money. Great sales pitch that my husband and I feel for. They can't help you when you call.

the should be able to access more than you and come up with an alternative to what your looking for. its unfortunate and I would never ever recommend this company to anyone, not even someone I didn't like!

Thank you very much for your feedback. You have entrusted us with your most precious commodity – your time. We don’t take this lightly. We understand that you have worked hard throughout the course of the year and that vacations represent a limited opportunity for you to connect, to re-energize, to relax or to explore. Never been let down

I've been a member of TAN since 2008, have taken about 15 vacations and have never had any problems. It helps that I'm not limited to when I travel since I don't have any children and can take advantage of off season deals and utilize the excess inventory.

Some of the places are older but some are a steal at $200 a week. The fact that you aren't able to travel is completely irrelevant to the service they provide.

Updated by user Feb 06, 2019

Since my original post on January 9, i was contacted by TAN and we have reached a settlement that does not include www.gocrv.com. This company that TAN still uses to fulfill its trip reward program still exists and is a detriment to its loyal members at TAN. They should end this association because it hurts the reputation of TAN.

Original review Jan 07, 2019

I am a subscriber (Gregory Betza) to your network since 2002 - account number 27-B-14968. I have used your services for myself and my family. On Saturday, i spoke to Dane Hoffnagle over the Internet to review opportunities with TAN's present plan and the remaining four weeks of my plan.

Since the meeting with Dane, myself and my wife afforded us the gift of a 3 day and 2 night vacation including airfare. I was eager since we wanted to go to Las Vegas and stay at the MGM Grand hotel located on the strip. I was given instructions to go to www.gocrv.com to register our promotional travel certificate.

While on the Internet, I reviewed comments made by other travelers using this provider - www.gocrv.com - and I was shocked and appalled at the multitude of negative comments about this company. While I recognize that they are not a part of the TAN organization, they do provide the sales and you only provide the properties.

The CEO of TAN is well aware of the SCAM like issues of gocrv and yet nothing has been done to stop them from representing you in their sales pitch. Have you lost your mind? Are you not worried about the ramifications of this inept sales company using your name in its promotions and destroying your organization?

I remain appalled!

First and worst family holiday vacation

Iam currently staying at the royal palm bay villas in kissimmee, fl. My family and i arrived on december 22, 2018.

When we arrived at our villa unit 85, i noticed we had no wash clothes available. Also the heat was not working. Being it was our first time here we notice the villa is very out dated. Only two televisions in the three bedroom villa.

One in the living room and one in our master bedroom. The next morning when we got up decided to make breakfast and notice the toaster don't work. Also no dust pan with the broom, makes no sense. Had to wash towels, but the washing machine is not working, now we have no towels.

Now at 9am have to stop by the office and pick up fresh towels. I feel when you go away on vacation especially around the holidays your stay should be outstanding. Your villa should be better then your own home. Iam very disappointed and hurt because i wanted to make this vacation special for my family.

I want my $900 back or i should be relocated to another resort. This is some BS.

Never again !!! Thank you TAN for the worst family holiday vacation.
